    Description

VINTAGE 1960's TOOL & DIE/CNC/MILLING SINGLE POINT LEVER LOCKING VISE, WITH REPLACEABLE POINT OF CONTACT PIECE. My late father acquired this vise in the 60's and I am certain he never used it. Any marks showing in my photos are only from 50+years of time sitting in one of Dad's many tool chests. There is a logo on the lever but I could not figure out it's manufacturer Googling. The vise from end too end Measures 10-1/2", top to bottom it stands 2". The 1/4" bottom plate is 2-3/4" × 2", and the creature weighs a hefty 2-3/4 pounds. I'm quite certain the silver colored point of contact piece was designed replaceable, and quite possibly with different shaped End pieces. The lever is Cast Iron with 2 different piviot points. The vise end transverses 1-3/4" too it's locked position. Except for the lever arm being Cast Iron, the other parts appear to be of Case Hardened Steel and machined to pretty tight close machine tolerances. One thing is apparent, once the lever is locked in it's up position, it would take a incredible amount of force to move it! Quite a incredibly built tool, it could be clamped in many different ways, and solve many different difficult Work/Tool holding application's. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail Medium Flat Rate Box, thank you for your interest and time in my long description... Bruce
