Dimensions of 70 x 33 x 38.5 cms.
Weight of about 3,830 kgs.
Materials: Wood, polychromy.
Presumed age: 1970s.
Magnificent representation of a Golin Goli mask (Baoulé Ethnicity, Béoumi region).
The Goli Glin is a special mask, which cannot be seen by women when dancing. Bells struck at a certain rhythm accompany the dancer, and at the sound of these bells, the women take refuge inside their house.
Spectacular specimen, carved from a piece of wood. Protective masks, birds and leopard are represented on the coin.
Note small gaps, restorations and traces of erosion.
