antique vintage wooden ceremonial hand carved war club sword tribal.
Really cool vintage to antique piece! It measures about 20 1/2 inches long and about 2 1/2 at it’s widest. It’s one piece of wood that is hand carved. The “pommel” of the handle has 2 tacks placed like eyes. It has various carving motifs and fits in the hand nicely. The blade has a “rib” or raised line through each side (I presume they’re to strengthen the blade). Each side also has offsetting color near the tip. I believe this is a ceremonial piece because it’s made from a light, softer wood. To me, it looks African but I really don’t know. It could be from Papua New Guinea or another island group. It’s obvious that it’s old and was used. It has dings, scratches, wear etc consistent with a item of its age.
