    Description

    A remarkable large Coptic Egyptian wool textile fragment dating to approximately 500 AD. The fragment is 13 inches wide by approximately 7 inches tall, laid over a neutral burlap (not attached to burlap), matted under glass in a 24" x 20" late 20th Century wood frame.
    The fragment uses a tree of life motif with bird, lion, cross and other symbols.
    In good antiquarian condition. Acquired by us (unframed) from a reputable auction house representing a mid-western US collection. Weight as framed is 6 lb 3 oz. Frame has a few abrasions which we have chosen to leave as is.
