1850's Polychrome Ceremonial House Post

Description

A noble 19th century Indian door post. Originally this piece was used as a representation of an event, tribe or person. Hewn from teakwood this lovely artifact features a carving of woman standing on top of an oversize lion. It retains traces of its original painted finish which was made with natural pigments.
